- transcription
Written in Enchin's own hand, this document allows us to glimpse his unique style of writing.
It was a reminder from Enchin to his disciples, reiterating the decree established by the Department of State in 871, which stipulated that when a high monk dies without having disciples, the mantras and ritual texts in their possession should be stored in the temple's mantra repository to prevent their dispersal. Through this, Enchin expressed his wish for the correct transmission of the teachings in his own hand.
